Working with Documents
In addition to code, the agent in Nexrall Work can create and edit real Microsoft Office files — Word documents, Excel workbooks and PowerPoint presentations. These are genuine binary files, not a chat "artifact" preview: you open them in Word, Excel or PowerPoint (or LibreOffice).
What the agent can do

Asking for a document
Describe the document you want in plain language:
"Create a project status report as a Word document — title, intro paragraph, and a section for this week's highlights."
or
"Make a slide deck pitching the new onboarding flow, one slide per feature, with speaker notes."
The agent generates the file into your connected folder. From there, open it in the folder's file list with the Open action — it launches in your installed Office (or LibreOffice) app.
Editing an existing workbook
For Excel, the agent can edit a workbook that already exists in a connected folder — for example, add a sheet, or replace the data in one sheet while leaving the others untouched. This is a full replace of the target sheet, not an append, so it matches the semantics of editing a source file.
Notes
- These document tools run through the same agent loop as code editing, so every file the agent generates or edits is rewindable via the task's history — just like a source file.
- The document tools are shared across all Nexrall Code surfaces (desktop, VS Code and CLI), not specific to Nexrall Work.
